Does it work without internet?

Yes — on a local network, peerChat works with zero internet connectivity.

Is there a server?

No. There is no peerChat server. Ever.

Is it free?

The desktop app is free and under AGPL-3.0. Mobile apps and commercial licensing are coming.

Where is my data stored?

Nowhere. Messages are not persisted (yet). Your alias is stored locally on your device.

Can I self-host?

There is nothing to host. That is the point.
